Stocks were volatile today, with the Dow being the only major index to finish in positive territory. In economic news, China confirmed Vice Premier Liu He is set to lead a Chinese delegation in trade talks in Washington this week, as U.S. says China tariffs will rise on Friday.

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 3 basis points yielding 2.48%

Oil prices closed up $0.58 ending at $61.98 a barrel

Gold prices closed down $3 ending at $1,282 an ounce

 

In the days’ stock news:

  • Lyft reported a loss of $1.14 billion in its first earnings report since going public, stating that this will be the peak year for losses and that it sees a clear path to profitability
  • Electronic Arts reported quarterly profit of $1.31 per share, topping estimates of 98 cents per share
  • TripAdvisor beat estimates by 5 cents a share, with quarterly profit of 36 cents per share
  • Qorvo beat estimates by 17 cents, reporting a profit of $1.22 per share
